Antiques
Milestone Gallery has a variety of antiques in its current inventory. As of July 5, 2008 there is some furniture dating back to the 19th century, silver, and porcelain as well, and one silver cream jug dating to 1772, from London and prior to the Boston Tea Party
This piece is one we have been calling a commode, however we are not certain if that is correct. It does have patent dates on the drawer handles, and the first pat. was in 1873 and that was reissued in 1881.
This secretary desk which is unsigned and undated. It appears to be all handmade with hand cut dovetails in the drawers. So far we have found 14 cubby holes and drawers in the desk.
Nesting tables with both parquet and marquet inlay. These are from an Omaha estate. It is the evaluation of Collectors Choice of Omaha that they are French, of the second empire period, 1850-1880. They did leave open the possibility of an Austrian origin.
